• Sales tax preparation relies on organized, timely sales records. If records are not sufficient to support accurate filing, additional cleanup or ongoing bookkeeping services may be required.

• Payment authorization and submission requirements vary by state and system

• Some state tax portals, including North Carolina’s, require limited client participation for account access, authorization, or payment entry due to system constraints. Any required client input will be clearly communicated in advance.

• Additional states, platforms, or complex sales activity may require expanded scope

Billing structure
Sales Tax Preparation & Filing services are billed at $160 per hour, with a 1-hour minimum and 10-minute increments thereafter. An initial one-hour retainer is required to secure your place on my schedule and is applied to your first invoice. Time is billed based on the number of filing periods, states involved, transaction volume, and condition of the provided records. Any tax payments, filing fees, or other government charges assessed by state or local agencies are billed in addition to the hourly rate. All services and scope of work will be confirmed in an engagement letter prior to the start of work.
